The Clarise Crafts Story

Clarise Crafts opened it's virtual doors in 2013. Prior to starting my business I was a graphic artworker straight out of school. In 2011 I gained a B.A (Hons.) in Graphic Communication at Batley School of Art. I specialise in handmade stamps; in particular custom stamps for businesses, crafters or weddings. Business branding and personalised stationery packages are available.

My name is Alyssa and despite being born in Spain, I have fully embraced Yorkshire life having lived in Leeds since the age of 4. I don't have a lot of time for hobbies but I do like to read and cross-stitch (badly) on quiet evenings, at weekends my partner encourages me to go for a river side walk or a bike ride which usually ends in the cafe with a large slab of ginger cake.

The main reason for starting my business was due to my ill health, being diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis and reactive arthritis at 16. Initially I intended to focus solely on branding and design but I quickly realised I enjoyed being hands-on and making stamps was a way to combine both aspects. I had been making stamps for my mums jewellery business for a couple of years before starting on my own. Being self employed gives me freedom to embrace my good days and take a step back when my health is not so good.

I keenly support other artists and craftspeople and I love sharing what my customers have produced using their custom stamps so please come and say hello over on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. (@ClariseCrafts)
